Vista Palms Apartment complex hosted their first ever Community Health and Information Fair for residents on Saturday, October 4th. The event was organized by the new local management team to help educate the Florida based tenants on a variety of wellness topics and create an opportunity for the residents to socialize and get to know their neighbors.

Over 300 residents and guests attended the one day event. Attendees were invited to stop and gather important information from local health care providers, social services groups and even exercise and nutrition experts. Booths and information stations were set up around the property, inside and out, and included educational content as well as a little fun for the attendees. From wellness checks, to Zumba class, to food stations, the event had something for everyone.

The organizers understood that in particular parents needed time to access the vendors and ask personal questions. So, children were offered a variety of entertaining options including snow cones, paint stations and even a visit with local fire fighters.

The free health checks were a big hit with residents. Over 100 people took advantage of medical testing/screening performed by on-site medical professionals.

We were amazed at the turn-out and heard first-hand how much our residents appreciated all the improvements we have made to the Vista Palms. It is clear that our commitment to the Lehigh Community is making a positive difference,” said Shannon Osar, Property Manager, Vista Palms.

The fair is just the start of good things to come at Vista Palms. Local management has announced that they will initiative a variety of new programs including, but not limited to:

• Teen Outreach Program in conjunction with the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida effective November 3rd, 2014
• Participating in a Mentoring program with the local YMCA for youth in the community at large
• Quarterly health screenings for local residents
• Offering computer classes and resume writing sessions for job seekers
• Hosting Zumba classes and other fitness related programs scheduled weekly on-site

Seasonal holiday events are also planned for the end of the year to celebrate the season of giving.
